Thailand's CPF to set up feed mills in Pakistan
Thai food giant Charoen Pokphand has been exploring locations to set up its feed mills and breeder farms in Pakistan.
Nutthakrit Sivasri, Vice Chairman, Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group of Thailand confirmed that the CP group would be investing in Pakistan in a meeting with the Pakistan Secretary Board of Investment (BoI) Mushtaq Malik.
CP is currently exploring the land the government set aside for foreign investment near Lahore.
Mushtaq Malik said that structural reforms and stabilization of economic policies of Pakistan government have achieved impressive progress and now presents investment opportunities in the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sector.
Nutthakrit Sivasri expressed confidence in the economic policies of Pakistan and was enthusiastic about the prospect of setting up of breeder farms and feed mills in the country.
Thailand's food conglomerate CPF already has feedmills in Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and China. It recently recovered from a loss-making first quarter to register a profit in the second quarter.
