Argentina's pig slaughter in H1 2023 rose 5.6%

The total number of pigs slaughtered in Argentina during the first half of 2023 was 3,938,813 head, an increase of 5.6% when compared to the same period in 2022.

80.2% of the animals slaughtered in the period were hogs.

Meanwhile, results by province indicated that Buenos Aires accounted for 50.4% of the slaughter, reaching 1,985,841 head, while Santa Fe and Córdoba accounted for 18.7% and 15.8%, respectively.
