Sharp hike in China methionine prices on tighter supply
Prices of methionine rose prominently during the week ending July 18.
Supplies of methionine dwindled as producers schedule for plant maintenance. Buyers who had insufficient stocks were compelled to make purchases, hence pushing prices to rise sharply.
For liquid methionine, price quotes were mainly around RMB17.50/kg.
