Brazil's pork exports rise 8.2% in June

 

 

During June this year, Brazil's pork exports rose 8.2% on-year in volume and 70% on-year in value.

 

Latest figures from ABIPECS show that Brazil exported 43,960 tonnes of pork in June, compared to 40,626 tonnes during the same month last year. Pork exports during June 2014 were valued at US$167.2 million, compared to US$98.49 million during the same month last year.

 

However, the average value of pork exported in June stood at US$3,805 per tonne, plunging by 56.9% on-year compared to US$2,424 per tonne in June 2013.

 

From January to June 2014, the country's pork exports reached 235,858 tonnes, down by 1.94% on-year. They are valued at $698.8 million, rising by 11% on-year.
