USDA says 101,568 tonnes of corn sold to Japan
Private exporters reported to the US Department of Agriculture export sales of 101,568 tonnes of corn for delivery to Japan.
Of this, 62,960 tonnes is to be delivered during the 2005/06 marketing year and 38,608 tonnes during the 2006/07 marketing year, the USDA said Monday (Jul 17).
The 2005/2006 marketing year for corn began Sep 1.
US exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tonnes or more of any commodity made in the same day to the same destination by 3:00 p.m. EDT the next business day, according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service. Any export sales under 100,000 tonnes must be reported on a weekly basis.
