Pilmico wins awards in feed mill and farm operations at Livestock Philippines 2023

Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corp. (Pilmico), a subsidiary of the Aboitiz Group's agribusiness division, was honoured for its outstanding feed mill and farm operations at the Livestock Philippines 2023 event held on July 5 at The World Trade Center in Metro Manila, Business Mirror reported.

Pilmico's feed mills were awarded for "Excellent Performance in Commercial Feedmill for Swine and Poultry," while its Farms division received recognition as an "Environment-Friendly Corporation" for its sustainable practices. These practices include a wastewater management system that treats the farms' by-products for recycling, contributing to pollution prevention and odour control.

The event, organised by Informa Markets and supported by the Philippines Department of Agriculture (DA), was attended by President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. and Senator Cynthia Villar, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food. Representatives from the DA, including Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban and Assistant Secretary Arnel De Mesa, led the recognition ceremony.

Expressing gratitude for the awards, Norie Bermudez, Agribusiness Country Director-PH of Pilmico and Gold Coin Group, said that the recognition motivates them further to continue fostering excellence in their products, services, and operations."

Bermudez was joined by Carlos Gerle, farm operations technical director; Ma. Cleo Flores, vice president for Quality, Safety, Health, Environment, and Process (QSHEP); and Christy Gawidan, senior supervisor for safety and environment, in accepting the awards on behalf of Pilmico.

Gerle acknowledged that while there is still progress to be made, Pilmico is proud of the steps it has taken to reduce its environmental impact.

As one of the leading agribusinesses in the Philippines, Pilmico is engaged in manufacturing feeds and managing poultry and swine farms.
