UK group signs aquaculture development agreement with Brazil
The International Agri-Technology Centre Ltd (IATC) has signed an agreement with the Brazilian Ministry for Fisheries and Aquaculture (MPA), to provide transfer of UK technology and expertise for the development of the Brazilian aquaculture industry.
The agreement is the result of a programme of activities organized by IATC and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) both in Brazil and the UK, demonstrating the UK's capabilities in the aquaculture sector.
UK universities, research institutes and private companies will benefit from the agreement, which is being managed by IATC, with the support of UK Trade & Investment in Brazil.
The IATC is contracted by Advantage West Midlands and UK Trade & Investment to promote and support the UK's agri-food technology industry in promoting and developing its international trade potential.
IATC's visit to Brazil in February this year, under the Joint Economic Trade Committee (JETCO) agreement, was the opportunity for director Philippa David, and industry specialist David Fletcher to finalise details of the agreement.
