Aviagen and Huat Lai team up for breeder and broiler seminar

Committed to continually share the latest knowledge and developments, Aviagen collaborated with Ross' long-standing customer, Huat Lai Resources Berhad, a fully integrated poultry company, to host a breeder and broiler seminar in Melaka, Malaysia.

 

 
The seminars mainly intended to reach out to Huat Lai's farm managers and Ross' stock customers in Malaysia.


Sharing the best broiler and breeder practices


Held from 23 - 24 April in Melaka, the event encompassed leading Aviagen experts presenting on current hot topics to help customers maximise the health, welfare and performance of Ross birds at both the breeder and broiler levels.


The breeder seminar took place on the first day at the Equatorial Hotel in Melaka. All 40 attendees were actively involved in constructive discussions that focused on male and female breeder management, as well as summer ventilation practices, nutrition for optimising breeder performance, best practices to achieve good bird health and management for maximum hatchability were held.


The broiler segment that continued the following day saw 16 participants at the Huat Lai office in Melaka. Focus areas included broiler subjects intended to improve production performance such as good brooding management, lighting program for broiler and ventilation techniques and tips for achieving optimal health and disease prevention.


"We are pleased with the enthusiasm and engagement of Huat Lai's customers during the seminars," Dr. Keat Fu, Aviagen's Regional Technical Service Veterinarian, said.


"Our goal is always to help them succeed by offering practical advice that they can apply to their daily operations."


Dr. Chang Hee Lee, Ross Technical Service Manager, Aviagen, added:

The event received raving feedback from those who were present. "The seminar was beneficial and informative, with many helpful topics. I particularly enjoyed the information on breeder benchmarking data and the financial impact on decision making," said Benedict Ong Yun Wui, Breeder farm Manager at QL feedingstuffs Sdn. Bhd.


Another attendee, Hashwini A/P Visvalingam, Senior Executive, breeder division of PWF Farm Sdn. Bhd., expressed, "I am very grateful for the chance to attend the seminar, which was useful and professionally managed. All the speakers were knowledgeable and dynamic. I managed to learn a lot, especially on critical control points for female and male management, as well as disease prevention."


The seminars presented a great opportunity for participants to learn, share perspectives and exchange knowledge with one another.
