India-based agritechstartup Brainwired raises new round of funding
Brainwired, which operates the weSTOCK livestock health monitoring and tracking system has received funding from Mumbai Angels Network as part of its pre-seed round, YourStory India reported.
The amount of funding provided was undisclosed. The new capital will be used to fulfill current product orders and expand the company's research and development.
WeSTOCK monitors livestock daily activity through an ear-tag and algorithm-based technology. It can alert farmers when animals require medical attention or if they are pregnant.
A prototype has been tested in farms at Kerala, India, helping Indian farmers tackle problems such as being unable to detect livestock diseases early, low reproduction rates, absence of livestock data and high costs deriving from farmers' poor knowledge.
Some members of the Mumbai Angels Network include Kritik Abiram, COO, Anjanasoftm Parthiv Rokadia, MD of Startradex and Gaurav Saraogi, MD of Chemco Group.
