Philippines' farm produce finds market in Indonesia

Agri products from Davao, a province in the Philippines, would soon find a  market in the Indonesian province of Northern Sulawesi as private and government sectors in both countries agreed to cooperate on import-export exchange.

The Mindanao Business Council in a press statement said the agreement involves the exportation to Northern Sulawesi of about 128 tonnes of pork products, 152 tonnes of frozen poultry products and 111 tonnes of egg products.

North Sulawesi in return would export some 3,000 to 6,000 tonnes of feed corn every month from Indonesia.

The cooperation agreement was forged between Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) through its industry association affiliates and the BIMP-EAGA of Northern Sulawesi. BIMP-EAGA is a grouping of countries consisting of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines which aims to promote economic development in member countries through sharing of resources and markets.
