Mexico To Export Beef To Japan
Mexico has signed a contract with Japan to export $250 million worth of beef to Japan, heralding the start of its beef exports to the giant Asian market, the Agriculture Ministry said Friday.
The move comes after Mexico made its first beef shipment to South Korea in January, soon after South Korea imposed an import ban on U.S. beef following the discovery of a U.S. cow infected with mad cow disease.
