Elanco and Tonisity expand partnership to bring gut-enhancing swine product to the Philippines

 

Elanco Animal Health Incorporated has announced an expansion of its partnership with Ireland-based Tonisity International Limited, to introduce Tonisity's novel, gut enhancing porcine product, Tonisity Px, to the Philippines, Investors Observer reported.

 

Under the distribution and promotion agreement, Elanco will serve as the exclusive distributor of Tonisity Px in several countries, including Brazil, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, and now the Philippines. As the exclusive distributor, Elanco will handle the marketing, promotion, distribution, and sale of Tonisity Px and Tonisity PxW in these markets, building on their successful distribution efforts under the existing strategic partnership agreement.

 

This expansion into the Philippines marks a significant milestone for both Elanco and Tonisity, as it represents their first venture into the Southeast Asian region. The move reflects the growing demand for innovative swine products in the region and highlights the strategic importance of the Philippine market.

 

Pablo Muniesa, Elanco international species lead for swine, said that Elanco has a strong focus on intestinal integrity research, and this agreement with Tonisity aligns perfectly with their strategy and complements their value offer.

Cortyl said the company looks forward to assisting the agricultural community in the Philippines in improving their profitability while enhancing the gut health of their animals.

 

Tonisity Px is a patented isotonic protein drink designed to enhance the gut health of livestock, particularly piglets. The product facilitates the absorption of nutrients and improves weight gain, reducing mortality rates and the need for medications. Tonisity has conducted over 200 swine trials worldwide, demonstrating the positive effects of Tonisity Px on pre-weaning mortality, weaning weights, and feed conversion rates.

 

In addition to its benefits for piglets, Tonisity PxW is designed for newly-weaned swine and aims to improve water intake during the critical post-weaning period. The product has shown significant reductions in post-weaning mortality and morbidity, as well as improvements in end-nursery weights.

 

Tonisity products can also be administered to swine of any age during other stress points in production, such as weaning, transportation, and farrowing or lactation for sows.
