China's Yurun Group funds expansion in subsidiary

China's Yurun Group will invest an additional RMB500 million in its subsidiary Furun Meat Products Company, which is located in Fuyang district, Anhui province. The funds will be utilized to expand Furun's hog slaughtering capacity to 3 million heads per year as well as to set up a large-scale hog farm.  

Furun Meat Products Company was previously known as Fuyang Meat Plant. Yurun acquired the former state-owned plant in 1999 and spent some RMB120 million in upgrading its production facilities with new equipment from Germany and Japan. Furun's current daily slaughtering capacity stands at 4,000 heads of hogs per day and has a processing capacity of 100 tonnes of meat per day.
