Vietnam's Hoa Phat Agriculture sells 212,000 pigs and 177,000 tonnes of feed in H1 2026

Second-quarter pig output rose 17% quarter on quarter as the company expanded its breeding herd, while feed volumes distributed to the market grew 9% year on year.

Hoa Phat Agriculture (HPA) sold over 212,000 pigs and supplied nearly 177,000 tonnes of animal feed in the first half of 2026, as the Vietnamese integrated livestock operator continued to expand output across its swine, poultry and cattle segments. The company also recorded 170.7 million eggs sold and over 10,000 cattle during the period.

In the feed segment, the volume distributed to external dealers reached nearly 92,000 tonnes in H1, up 9% from the same period last year, while a further 85,000 tonnes were supplied to the company's internal farms. Second-quarter external feed sales reached over 46,000 tonnes, above the first-quarter level, with internal supply also rising over 9% quarter on quarter. HPA distributes animal feed through more than 600 dealers nationwide.

Pig output accelerated in the second quarter, with commercial market-ready pigs reaching nearly 76,000 head, up 17% from the first quarter. Weaned piglet sales of over 26,300 head fell quarter on quarter as HPA proactively retained stock to expand the herd at its Minh Duc farm. Replacement gilt supply to the market more than doubled compared with the first quarter. For H1 as a whole, pig sales comprised over 140,000 commercial pigs, over 72,000 weaned piglets and nearly 1,200 replacement gilts. HPA currently operates eight farms with a breeding herd of 25,000 sows, sourcing all breeding stock from DanBred grandparent and parent lines from Denmark, and reports reproductive productivity of 33 to 34 weaned piglets per sow per year — approximately 1.5 times the industry average.

Egg production reached 86.1 million in the second quarter, a slight increase over the first quarter, bringing H1 egg output to 170.7 million, up nearly 2% year on year. HPA supplies approximately one million eggs per day through traditional retail, supermarkets, food manufacturers, hotels and schools, as well as exports to Laos and Cambodia, maintaining its position as the leading clean egg supplier in northern Vietnam.

In the cattle segment, over 2,600 head were sold in the second quarter, below the first-quarter level following a deliberate scale adjustment in response to market supply conditions. HPA said it has expanded its cattle sourcing beyond Australia to maintain operational efficiency. Total H1 cattle sales exceeded 10,000 head.

For full-year 2026, HPA is targeting revenue of VND7,200 billion (US$274 million) and after-tax profit of VND1,005 billion (US$38 million), with expansion in pig farming and increased feed production as the primary growth levers.
