Ukraine reaps grains over 2.65 million hectares
Ukrainian agrarians have gathered early grains and leguminous crops over the areas of 2.65 million hectares, or 26% of the estimate, as of July 6.
The produced volumes totalled 5.01 million tonnes of grains (in 2011 on the same date agrarians produced 2.46 million tonnes) with the average yield of 18.7 c/ha (in 2011 - 28 c/ha).
In particular, agrarians harvested winter barley throughout 532,000 hectares (70% of the plan), and produced 1.045 million tonnes of the grain with the yield at 19.6 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested winter wheat throughout the areas of 1.64 million hectares (29%), and produced 3.3 million tonnes with the yield at 19.9 c/ha.
Ukrainian agrarians started harvesting spring wheat, and as of July 6 produced 1.8 thsd tonnes of the grain. The harvesting areas totalled 1.6 thsd hectares. The average yield totalled 11.4 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested spring barley throughout the areas of 334,000 hectares (12%) with the average yield of 13.6 c/ha, the produced volumes of the grain totaled 454,000 tonnes.
Besides, as of the reporting date agrarians produced 7.1 thsd tonnes of rye with the yield of 19 c/ha throughout the areas of 3.7 thsd hectares, or 1% of the planned harvest volume.
Ukraine harvested peas throughout 133,000 hectares (54% of the forecast), and produced 193,000 tonnes, with the yield of 14.5 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout the areas of 132,000 hectares (25% of the forecast), and produced 241,000 tonnes with the average yield of 18.3 c/ha.
According to updated data from regions, Ukraine has to harvest early grains, leguminous crops and rapeseed throughout 10.3 million hectares (including wheat - 5.86 million hectares, barley - 3.47 million hectares, rye - 303,000 hectares, oats - 310,000 hectares, peas - 247,000 hectares).
According to preliminary data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, in 2012 the production of grains and leguminous crops is expected within 45-47 million tonnes.
