Rainfall a good sign for Western Australian farmers
Heavy rainfall across the agricultural region has broken the dry spell for Western Australia's wheat and livestock farmers.
There has been significant rainfall throughout the Mid West and Wheatbelt; 28 millimetres has been recorded in Dongara and 27 millimetres in Koorda.
Wheat grower John Shadbolt recorded 24 millimetres at his Nungarin property and said he hopes for more rainfall. "I think the way the rain's fallen has been fantastic. It's all going to soak in,"Shadbolt said.
Livestock farmers are also hoping for more rainfall, as livestock is dependent on crop as feed.
Harold Wass said the lack of rain has made feeding livestock at his East Perenjori property difficult. He hopes the 20 millimetres he received is a sign of more rainfall to come.
