South Russia's grain production expected to decrease
 

 

The droughts, which caught the Volga region, will possibly cause the decrease of grain production in Russia in 2010, according to the analytical centre CJSC Rusagrotrans.

 

The experts forecast that grain production in 2010 will total 84-85 million tonnes as opposed to 97.1 million tonnes in 2009. Also, the experts expect for grain yield decrease in some regions of Siberia.

 

According to data of CJSC Rusagrotrans, the prices on the domestic market did not show the traditional seasonal decrease amid unfavourable weather, which affected most regions of the country, and the increase in world grain prices.
