ADM And CGB Company Transfer Ownership of Two Grain Terminals

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) and Consolidated Grain Barge Company (CGB) have transferred ownership of two grain terminals. ADM will begin operating CGB's rail grain terminal in Curran, Illinois while CGB will begin operating ADM's river grain terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio, effective July 1, 2004.

"The addition of the Curran facility to our elevator network creates synergies and strategic value for ADM's processing and export assets," stated Lew Batchelder, Senior Vice President-Grain and Transportation.

"This addition of loading and storage capacity on the Ohio River will enable CGB to provide improved service to our customers and supply a better product into the identity preserved markets," stated Steve Burbrink, General Manager-Cincinnati Region.

CGB Enterprises, Inc. through its Grain Division, Consolidated Grain and Barge Co., has approximately 72 facilities throughout the Midwest with storage capacity in excess of 65 million bushels and has over 900 employees. CGB also operates a Soybean Processing Plant in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.
