Sri Lanka lifts four-year ban on use of rice and paddy in animal feed production

The Consumer Affairs Authority has revoked a gazette restriction in place since June 2022, reopening rice and paddy for processing, sale, purchase, transport, storage and distribution as feed inputs.
Sri Lanka has removed all restrictions on the use of rice and paddy for animal feed production, with the Consumer Affairs Authority issuing a Gazette Extraordinary revoking the prohibition that had been in force since 24 June 2022.
The new gazette lifts curbs across the full supply chain, covering the processing, sale, purchase, transport, storage and distribution of rice and paddy for feed purposes.
