CBH announces crop estimates online service

Growers will this year be able to submit their crop estimate forms online through LoadNet, which replaces the traditional paper estimate form, according to Co-operative Bulk Handling Ltd (CBH).

Colin Tutt, General Manager Operations said the online service will make completing crop estimates simpler and quicker.

''To submit crop estimate forms this year, growers will be directed to log onto LoadNet, click on the Estimates toolbar and then submit the hectares and varieties that they either have already planted or they intend to plant this season,'' he said.

Growers will also need to nominate their intended or preferred receival point for deliveries this harvest before submission, with the whole process taking about five minutes, he said.

Tutt said crop estimates play a vital role in the harvest planning process, which help CBH to effectively match the grain receival services they provide at harvest with the various grain types and grades likely to be delivered.

He said it also allows the company to provide more timely and cost effective storage, outturn and transport services helping them with their objective to ensure the grain supply chain remains efficient.

Tutt said growers will be mailed out information over the coming week, which provides further details and a step-by-step guide on how to use the new online system.
