Russian food agency stops shipment of expired Brazilian pork
Russia's food safety agency has stopped a shipment of expired Brazilian pork disguised as sprats.
Rosselkhoznadzor experts in western Russia stopped a truck from Kaliningrad carrying boxes of Brazilian pork with manufacturing dates as January 2006 and expiry dates as January 2007.
The watchdog said the consignment note mentioned "frozen sprats for feeding fur-bearing animals," while the truck was actually carrying 25 tonnes of pork.
