Ukraine records grain production at over three million tonnes

 

 

APK-Inform said that Ukraine collected early grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 1.74 million hectares (17% of the forecast), and produced 3.04 million tonnes of grains (on the same date in 2011 agrarians produced 1.82 million tonnes) with the average yield of 17.6 centner/hectare (in 2011 - 28.1 centner/hectare).

 

As of the reporting date, 20 regions already started the harvesting campaign.

 

In particular, agrarians harvested winter barley throughout the areas of 414,000 hectares (55% of the plan), and produced 0.773 million tonnes of the grain with the average yield of 18.7 centner/hectare (c/ha). Ukraine harvested winter wheat throughout 1.05 million hectares (19%), and produced 1.92 million tonnes of the grain with the yield of 18.2 c/ha.

 

Agrarians harvested spring barley throughout the areas of 164,000 hectares with the average yield of 13 c/ha, and produced 212,000 tonnes of the grain.

 

Agrarians started harvesting spring wheat areas, and as of July 3 already produced 700 tonnes. The harvested areas totalled 700 hectares, the yield - 10 c/ha.

 

Ukraine harvested peas throughout 98,300 hectares (40% of the forecast), and produced 135,000 tonnes, the yield - 13.8 c/ha.

 

Agrarians started harvesting rye areas. As of the reporting date, Ukraine produced 1,800 tonnes of the grain with the average yield of 14.2 c/ha.

 

Agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout the areas of 68,400 hectares (13% of the forecast), and produced 102,000 tonnes with the average yield of 15 c/ha.

 

According to updated data from regions, agrarians have to harvest grains, leguminous crops and rapeseed throughout 10.9 million hectares, including wheat - 5.86 million hectares, barley - 3.47 million hectares, rye - 303,000 hectares, oats - 310,000 hectares, peas - 247,000 hectares.

 

According to preliminary data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in the current year the production of grains and leguminous crops is expected to reach 45-47 million tonnes.
