Prices of Vietnamese agriculture rise in Mekong Delta Province
Prices of agricultural products in Vietnam's Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre increased by between 30-150% from a year ago, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade said.
Prices of pigs are at VND60,000/kg (US$2.92/kg), prawn shrimp at VND270,000/kg (US$13.14/kg), and blood cockle at VND48,000/kg (US$2.33/kg).
The department said that high prices of input production materials, diseases and unfavorable weather conditions have attributed to the farm produce price hike.
Prices of agricultural products in the second half of this year are expected to rise further due to halted supply, the department added.
