Jordan buys 100,000 tonnes feed barley
Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry said Tuesday (Jul 4) it bought 100,000 tonnes of feed barley, on a cost and freight basis.
Jordan bought 50,000 tonnes--of European Union, Russian, Ukraine and Kazakhistan origin--at the seller's option, from Societe for shipment during the second half of July at US$149.41 a tonne, Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry said.
Another 50,000 tonnes of Russian or Ukraine origin were purchased from Silverstone at US$145.75/tonne for shipment during the first half of August, at the seller's option, Ghesh added.
Jordan last bought barley April 18 when it purchased 100,000 tonnes of EU and Black Sea origin from Cargill, at a price of US$148/tonne, and 20,000 tonnes of Ukrainian barley from Galaxy at US$145.30/tonne.
