Value of UK pork exports to Philippines increased 14% in first four months of 2022

Exports of pork from the United Kingdom to the Philippines reached almost £17 million (US$20.1 million) in the first four months of 2022 – up 14% on the same period last year, the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) said.

According to the latest figures from HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs), between January and April, the amount of UK pig meat shipped to the Philippines increased 46%, to 13,812 tonnes.

The Philippines is now the UK's second-largest non-EU pork export market, behind China.

Last year, almost £38 million (US$46 million) worth of pork was shipped to the Philippines – a fourfold increase on 2020.
