UK refutes presence of animal diseases

Veterinary authorities in the United Kingdom have denied the presence of foot-and-mouth and swine vesicular diseases in the country.

Following official testing at the UK national reference laboratory, the UK Chief Veterinary Officer had negated the suspicion of foot and mouth disease in pigs at a premises near Feltwell, Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, Norfolk.

In the same way, the presence of swine vesicular disease has also been dismissed so a Temporary Control Zone initially activated for foot and mouth disease and, later, for vesicular disease has been repealed.
