Ukraine limits exports of corn, grains
The government of Ukraine has taken effect in July 1 the grain quotas which will limit the country's grain exports.
Grains such as of wheat, rye, barley and corn can only be exported to 3,000 tonnes each.
It was initially planned to raise the limits on October 1, but the resolution did not specify the period of quotas.
The Economic Ministry and the Agrarian Policy Ministry will jointly draft a government resolution regulating grain exports in July 2007 - June 2008 before September 20.
The government said the quotas were necessitated by unfavorable weather in May and June and would be used to amass state grain reserves.
