Ukraine's May poultry population up 11.2%
Compared with April, Ukraine's poultry population in May grew 11.2% or 22.220 million heads to 221.279 million heads as of June 1, 2012.
Ukrainian News learned this from the State Statistics Service.
In private farms, the poultry population increased by 24.2% or 21.406 million heads, and in specialised farms rose by 0.7% or 0.813 million heads.
In comparison with June 1, 2011, poultry population rose by 2% or 4.267 million heads.
In specialised farms, the poultry population increased by 2.1% or 2.335 million heads, and in private farms increased by 1.8% or 1.931 million head.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in April, the poultry population rose by 4.2% or 7.954 million heads, compared with March, to 199.059 million heads as of May 1, 2012.
