US state provides relief funding for aquaculture
Aquaculture producers in the southern US state of Louisiana affected by last year's Hurricane Katrina would soon be entitled to US$4.5 million in federal aid under the Louisiana Aquaculture Block Grant Programme.
The grant would be administered by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry and the USDA's Farm Services Agency.
With the money, Louisiana aquaculture industry is getting the help it needs to be up and running strong again, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Bob Odom
said in a news release.
