The total import of milk powder in China from January to May is 314,000 tonnes, down 49.18% year-on-year. It is valued at RMB870 million, a decrease of 72.13% from last year.

283,200 tonnes or 90.17%of the total imports came from New Zealand,followed by the EU (15,600 tonnes or 4.98%), Australia (7049.67 tonnes or 2.24%) andthe US (6435.17 tonnes or 2.05%).

The average imported price of milk powder from January to May has also fallen 45.17% to US$ 2,771 per tonne.
