Thailand's shrimp prices lower while NCPO tries to resolve slave labour problem (week ended June 12, 2014)
Concerns about foreign labour caused an increase in labour movement to their home country but this did not affect the shrimp industry, as almost all are under legal foreign registration. Wholesale prices are lowered to THB 225/kg (US$6.92/kg) for a kilogramme of 50 shrimps from THB 230/kg (US$7.07/kg) last week.
