Danish aquaculture organisations merge to form unified voice
The Danish Export Association and AquaCircle have merged to form a unified organisation, now operating under the name Danish Export – Fish Tech, which aims to provide a stronger, cohesive voice for Danish aquaculture, Fish Farmer reported.
Exporting feed, equipment, and solutions to the global aquaculture industry plays a significant role in the Danish economy. The merger emphasises the importance of the industry having optimal conditions to continue its development towards more sustainable food production using the best and most energy-efficient technologies.
The consolidation of these two member organizations aims to enhance the overall influence of the aquaculture sector and create better coherence among the various players in Danish aquaculture. Danish Export – Fish Tech now serves as a single-entry point for export promotion, commercial activities, and political advocacy for all relevant industry players.
Danish Export – Fish Tech unites Danish suppliers of feed, equipment, technology, and services within aquaculture, including turnkey system suppliers, manufacturers of small components, feed producers, and suppliers of processing equipment.
Martin Winkel Lilleøre, Head of Fish Tech at Danish Export Association, said, "It is important that we can ensure the best possible conditions for industry players by creating a stronger voice together. Our members in Danish Export – Fish Tech depend on a robust aquaculture industry in Denmark to develop in export markets. Therefore, I am pleased that through the merger with AquaCircle, we can also create a stronger political voice."
