China Methionine: Poor demand softens prices (week ended Jun 29, 2020)
An eFeedLink Exclusive
Demand for livestock products were limited as the second wave of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic hit China while several regions were plagued by floods and heavy rains. Feed producers cut output, hence decimating the sales of methionine.
Price quotes of methionine in Europe dipped to the range of EUR2.20-2.25/kg.
Methionine availability is projected to be ample despite production cuts due to routine plant maintenance. Prices are seen weaker with usages slow amid decreased feed production.
