China's Guangdong to introduce pilot poultry scheme

In order to help boost insurance for poultry, including avian poultry, the Guangdong province of China is set to launch a pilot poultry scheme involving subsidies.

Through this move - which includes subsidies to the tune of RMB48.54 million (US$7.8 million) for poultry breeding - the provincial government looks to strengthen the poultry industry in the region. The provincial government has urged better poultry production and analysis of market prices.
