National Beef signs deal with casual-dining burger chain

National Beef Packing Co. has signed an agreement that will see the processor offering its Naturewell Natural Ground Chuck to casual-dining chain Cheeburger Cheeburger as its exclusive ground beef supply in its restaurants nationwide.

Naturewell Natural Beef is naturally raised Midwest Angus beef finished with no antibiotics, no added hormones and a 100-percent vegetarian corn-fed diet. It is also produced under National Beef's WELL Initiatives Programme, a combination of operational and environmental efforts that aim to protect water, energy, livestock and land resources.

Cheeburger Cheeburger will feature Naturewell 100 percent Ground Chuck in five menu offerings.

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Cheeburger Cheeburger has 58 restaurants in 27 states, with 18 more scheduled to open this year.
