Netherlands forms consortium to engage Mexico's livestock market

Dutch stakeholders have signed an agreement on June 20, resulting in the formation of the Grupo AgriMex-Holanda consortium which will engage Mexico's livestock production market.

The stakeholders are the Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Affairs, as well as the Netherland Enterprise Agency and eleven Dutch companies. The agreement will last for three years.

Also present in ceremony held in The Hague is the Mexican Embassy.

Increasing the awareness of the Netherlands' expertise and technology, Grupo AgriMex-Holanda's main objective is to participate actively in the South American nation's livestock production market, based on sustainable production and animal health, with a special initial focus on the poultry sector. The Dutch government and companies will invest a total of US$1.4 million.

The involved companies are dedicated to different animal production sectors from breeding techniques, feed, housing, transportation to manure management, water and waste management. These organisations include PTC+, Schothorst Feed Research, Ottevanger Milling Engineers BV, Walinga, Inc., Dutrion North America, Ltd., Dorset Green Machines, Twinpack BV, Vencomatic Group, Pas Reform Hatchery Technologies, Excentials / Orffa and Marel Stork Poultry Processing.

Mexico is a country with a wide variety of opportunities for Dutch animal production companies due to its large internal market and growing export markets, together with a high level of production especially in poultry, eggs and pigs.
