More Russian pork entering Vietnamese market this year
Russian and Vietnamese officials said there has been an increase in supplies of Russian pork to the Vietnamese market during a recent video conference.
The meeting was held on June 11 between Artem Daushev, assistant to the head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), and Truong Hoang Minh, Trade Counselor of the embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation.
Minh, noted that, during the first four months of 2021, 22,000 thousand tonnes of Russian pork products were shipped. This amounted to 43% of all pork imports in Vietnam.
According to Daushev, all these products are subject to strict veterinary control, and laboratory tests are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the importing country. The system of information traceability of livestock products implies control over the turnover at all stages of production.
