Vaksindo Vietnam inaugurates state-of-the-art veterinary vaccine factory in Hung Yen, Vietnam

Vaksindo Vietnam Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Vaksindo Satwa Nusantara in Indonesia, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art veterinary vaccine factory in Yen My II Industrial Park, located in the northern Vietnam province of Hung Yen, Vietnam Investment Review reported.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Denny Abdi, the Indonesian ambassador to Vietnam; and leaders of Vaksindo, along with various other honoured guests.

The factory, which began construction in April 2022, spans over 20,000 sqm and features a two-floor design with plans for future expansion. As the largest veterinary vaccine factory in Vietnam, Vaksindo aims to supply high-quality international standard vaccines for the domestic market and export.

The new facility is GMP-WHO certified and will operate five production lines over a 9,000 square meter production area. It will focus on tissue culture-based vaccines, egg-based vaccines, and bacterial vaccines. Its key products are designed for swine, cattle, and poultry.

Speaking at the ceremony, Teguh Yodiantara Prajitno, Vaksindo managing director, said that the state-of-the-art vaccine factory will primarily serve the goal of ensuring disease safety for Vietnam's livestock and contributing to the sustainable development of the industry.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that Vaksindo Vietnam's commitment to modern technology and in-depth research to international standards will meet domestic demand for vaccines and, soon after, begin exporting.

Indonesian ambassador Denny Abdi said that Vaksindo is the top veterinary vaccine manufacturer in Indonesia, and the vaccines produced by Vaksindo are backed by innovative research and strictly adhere to international standards for quality and safety.

He said that research between Indonesia and Vietnam in animal health can be strengthened to minimise outbreaks and predict future epidemics, and this partnership will not only benefit both countries but also the world

Established in 1983, Vaksindo is Indonesia's first veterinary vaccine manufacturer and has been a key component of the Japfa value chain since its acquisition in 2008. Japfa is Indonesia's largest integrated livestock producer.
