Pakistan's poultry industry considers damage from heat wave minimal

A spokesman for Pakistan's poultry industry has rejected reports that farmers sustained major poultry losses due to the heat wave in Punjab province. The safety of poultry at protected farms was ensured, while farms at open houses have suffered some losses although that would not affect the supply.

He added that major areas where poultry suffered losses included parts of Karachi in Sindh province and central Punjab, while other areas remained completely unaffected.

A poultry expert also pointed out that due to high poultry prices, poultry farmers have taken extra care to protect their birds under cool temperatures, resulting in minimal losses.
