India to have advanced food safety facility

Tamil Nadu Bakers' Federation India is in the midst of setting up a sophisticated food safety laboratory in India.

The laboratory, which will be located in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, will be built on the guidelines set by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) - an autonomous body which provides third-party assessment of the quality and technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories in India.

The site will also feature a training centre, which would meet International School of Bakery Standard, reported Fnbnews.com.

According to the Federation, the site for the laboratory was sponsored by the directors of New Bakery Desotta - R Kaleeswaran and K Prem Radhika.

Tamil Nadu Bakers' Federation India is a trade body, representing Tamil Nadu, a state in India.
