Recovery of India's poultry market boosts ILDEX India 2006

Press release

With the full recovery in India's poultry market, over 50 international exhibitors have expressed interest in participating in ILDEX India 2006.

As of June 2006, about 100 international exhibitors registered to exhibit at ILDEX India 2006, which will be held in Delhi during Aug 27-29, 2006.

"An additional 50 foreign companies have informed us that they are willing to take part in ILDEX India 2006, as Indian broiler integrators have confirmed that the poultry market has fully recovered after India was hit by

bird flu in February 2006," said a senior officer at Bangkok-based N.C.C Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd., or NEO.

NEO and PIXIE Publication India Pvt. Ltd. have jointly organised ILDEX India, which is South Asia's first trade exhibition that gathers together all sectors of animal production and food processing in one event.

India's leading broiler integrator Suguna Poultry Group, has committed to sponsoring participants from South India to attend the show, which will be held at Halls 8-11 Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.

Suguna, in collaboration with the World Bank, will also organise a conference on measures to control and prevent bird flu at ILDEX.

The conference seeks to address the impacts of bird flu on trade and ways to win back consumers' confidence.

Global feed provider Cargill has confirmed that it will sponsor the conference, which will discuss in detail key issues concerning the future of the Indian poultry industry and also that of South Asia as a whole.

NEO and PIXIE aim to promote ILDEX as a regional show, and are trying to entice exhibitors and visitors throughout South Asia particularly Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to take part.

ILDEX India will feature all aspects of the poultry, dairy (beef and cattle), aquaculture, meat and seafood processing and packaging industries with special focus on South Asia.

Its timing is also concurrent with the annual, national symposium of CLFMA of India or the Compound Feed Manufacturers Association of India.

CLFMA is not only India's largest grouping of feed manufacturers, but also of suppliers of raw materials, ingredients, feed additives and feed machinery manufacturers.

This year, CLFMA will focus its discussions on "Exploring Rural Markets for Livestock Products."

CLFMA's two-day symposium will start on Aug 26, so as to encourage its over 300 members to attend ILDEX India later.
