South Korea farmed produce exports reach US$2 billion in Jan-May
   
   

South Korea's farm products and seafood exports from January-May 2008 brought in US$1.71 billion, up 25 percent on-year, due to robust demand.

 

Farm and processed food exports accounted for US$1.1 billion while seafood shipments represented US$600 million.

 

Ginseng and kimchi were leading export products along with mushrooms, squid and tuna, according to South Korea's Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

 

Exports to Japan jumped 33 percent on-year while shipments to China and the US climbed 12.4 percent and 9.6 percent respectively.
