NaturalShrimp signs licensing agreement with Niterra for trial of shrimp farming techn

NaturalShrimp, a biotechnology aquaculture company known for its shrimp-focused Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), has entered into a licensing agreement with Niterra Co Ltd for Niterra to trial NaturalShrimp's patented shrimp growing technologies, NaturalShrimp reported.
Niterra, a manufacturer of spark plugs for various applications, including automotive, motorcycle, marine, and small engines, actively seeks to explore new revenue streams across multiple sectors. Niterra Ventures Company, a division of Niterra Co., Ltd., focuses on generating growth through partnerships, investments, and collaborations in areas such as mobility, food, medical, energy, and environment. The company also operates a dedicated research facility that advances the cultivation techniques and practices of shrimp.
As part of the licensing agreement, NaturalShrimp will provide Niterra access to its proprietary Electrocoagulation (EC) and Hydrogas technologies. The purpose is to assess the suitability and viability of these patented technologies for shrimp cultivation in small-scale, locally owned aquacultural farms.
Both companies recognise the trial as a crucial foundation for potential future collaborations, joint business relationships, ventures, transactions, or other business combinations.
The trial period is expected to last approximately six months, beginning with the deployment of the necessary equipment at the selected trial location. This equipment includes Electrocoagulation equipment, Hydrogas, water dosing equipment, connectors, and other essential components.
Successful completion of the initial trial will open doors for further studies and trials to evaluate the efficacy of NaturalShrimp technologies on additional aquatic species, under separate agreements.
Gerald Easterling, CEO of NaturalShrimp, said that Niterra's mission to pursue innovative solutions and tackle tomorrow's challenges makes them an ideal partner for their technologies.
Easterling siad that Niterra's licensing of the technology in Asia expands NaturalShrimp's reach into one of the world's largest seafood markets. He anticipates a successful trial that will lay the groundwork for future agreements involving different species, highlighting the ability of NaturalShrimp's technologies to enhance aquaculture systems by electronically removing harmful substances and improving animal health.
Dirk Schapeler, President of Niterra Ventures Company, affirmed the importance of land-based food production in providing healthy sustenance to the growing global population, which necessitates effective water quality management.
Niterra is currently developing a land-based aquaculture system with a focus on monitoring ammonia levels to maintain a stable environment for shrimp growth and production. Schapeler said that incorporating NaturalShrimp's proprietary technologies will further enhance their capabilities in producing premium quality shrimp with a high degree of automation within an indoor setting.
