Grain exports from Ukraine 55.5% down in June
Data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine showed grain exports declined 55.5% in the first 20 days of June 2022 to 777,000 tonnes, compared to the same period last year, Reuters reported.
This included 689,000 tonnes of corn, 63,000 tonnes of wheat and 21,000 tonnes of barley
Before the Russian invasion, Ukraine shipped up to 6 million grains monthly.
Export volumes from Ukraine have dropped to about 1.7 million tonnes as the country, which used to ship its grains via seaports, has now been forced to transport grains by rail via its western border or using its small Danube river ports.
