Expect custom solutions at every production location, says Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition

Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition has announced that Mark Martinez has been promoted to the position of Sr. Manager, Business Development and National Accounts.

In this role, Martinez will be responsible for leading the organisation's poultry and swine commercial team. In terms of National Accounts, he will continue to be in charge of large distribution companies within the United States, for both new technologies and the organisation's products for the dairy sector.

In his previous position at Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition, Martinez served as national accounts manager, and prior to that as South Central account manager. He has played an integral role in introducing Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition to the poultry and swine markets.

"Mark's years of experience overseeing national channel sales accounts, along with his extensive knowledge of the poultry and swine industries, make him a great fit for this new position," Scott Druker, general manager, Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition, said. "With the recent acquisition of Agro BioSciences, we have strengthened our portfolio to meet the growing needs of producers worldwide, significantly expanding our monogastric sales and research teams. Mark is well-suited to lead this group."

Another major acquisition within the past five years, taken on by their parent company Church & Dwight, was that of animal nutrition company Vi-COR. In an interview with eFeedLink at World Pork Expo in Iowa, United States earlier this month, Martinez shared that the organisation would continue to ride on their growth momentum through suitable acquisitions, which would also help them to expand into markets outside of the United States. Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition has had a presence in the US dairy sector for over 40 years, and new acquisitions would equip it with a portfolio of solutions for quick penetration into the swine and poultry, as well as the beef sectors.

Martinez further shared about their product development plans following those acquisitions. "We plan to develop the technologies that we have acquired, and take them to markets outside of the US. For probiotics we are still in the process of figuring out the best way get the technologies onto global markets, and provide value to animal protein producers in those markets. Following the acquisition of Agro BioSciences, we will continue to invest in technologies for Bacillus strains for applications in all species. For our refined functional carbohydrates (RFCs) for swine and poultry, we are well on the way of selling the Celmanax line of products beyond the United States in Europe, Asia and Latin America. We will also continue to expand applications for our dairy portfolio of products for international markets."

Martinez also pointed out that while the market need for antibiotic reduction started outside of the United States more than 10 years ago, the same market need began more recently within the United States, driven mostly by consumer concerns. Arm & Hammer Animal Nutrition will continue to invest in those solutions, such as responding to health challenges in the gut environment.

"I would want the industry to understand that at every production location, the health challenges are different. We have the opportunity to help evaluate the microbial environment in a specific location, provide custom solutions such as custom Bacillus strains, and we have the capability, skill sets and technology to do that," concluded Martinez.

Martinez has more than 26 years of experience working in the feed and livestock production industries. Prior to joining Arm & Hammer, he was employed at Elanco Animal Health, where he managed large channel accounts for nine years. Martinez has also held positions at FMC Corp. and Kemin Industries.
