AquaChile regains leadership among salmon exporters
AquaChile regained its leadership among salmon export organisations in Chile, with sales of US$117 million, an amount that indicates an increase of 39% over the first four months of 2010.
In the first quarter of this year, AquaChile took the second place among the leading exporters of salmon with shipments of US$98.3 million whereas in the first place was Mainstream with sales of US$100.2 million.
According to the available data in the first quarter of 2011, in the second position was Mainstream, belonging to the Norwegian conglomerate Cermaq, with exports worth US$115 million, 52% more than US$60 million recorded between January and April in the previous year.
In third position was Multiexport Foods, which had sales of US$85 million, that is to say, 54% more than the first four months of 2010 at US$46 million.
In fourth and fifth place were Los Fiordos, with shipments of US$83 million and Acuinova Chile, with US$57 million.
