In April, Ukraine's production of meat in live weight grew by 9.3% or 21,800 tonnes compared with March, to 257,400 tonnes, according to the State Statistics Committee.

Production of meat by private farms rose by 34.5% or by 34,300 tonnes in April, compared with March, to 133,600 tonnes. Specialised farms reduced meat production by 9.2% or 12,500 tonnes to 123,800 tonnes.

In April 2010, meat production grew by 3.3% or 8,200 tonnes, compared with April 2009.

In January-April 2010, meat production grew by 6.7% or 60,900 tonnes, compared with January-April 2009, to 967,800 tonnes.

In 2009, meat production rose by 0.2% or 5,200 tonnes to 2,728,400 tonnes, compared with 2008.
