Mitsui begins exports of Russian grain to Asia

Japanese trade house Mitsui has started exporting Russian grain from Russia's Far East to Asia, a Mitsui executive in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States said on Friday (Jun 18).

"Mitsui has just started exporting Russian grains from the Far East to Asia," Noriaka Sakamoto said at the St Petersburg Economic Forum.

He said Mitsui was ready to support plans to build a modern grain terminal on Russia's Pacific shore.

"As part of the process we are strongly committed to participating in the grain export terminal in the Russian Far East including joint investment with the Russian government, the public sector and the private sector," he said.
