Russia to lift ban on Swedish poultry and feed imports
Russia is expected to lift its ban on Swedish poultry and feed imports following a recent meeting between Sergey Dankvert, head of Russia's veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, and Swedish agriculture minister Eskilem Erlandsson.
Russia had banned imports of animal feed and poultry products from Sweden since 2004 due to a Newcastle disease outbreak in the Scandinavian country.
Besides lifting the ban, Russia will also permit imports of poultry breeding stock from Sweden under the new agreement.
