South Korea's CJ Corp sets up lysine production plant in Brazil

South Korea's CJ Corp has said that it has set up a US$60 million lysine production plant in Brazil, and will hold 99.99 percent of its shares.

The company said it incorporated CJ Bio do Brasil today in the city of San Paulo and plans to start the construction of the plant this December. It will produce 45 thousand tonnes of lysine annually at the plant, with mass production beginning in 2007.

CJ currently makes lysine in China and Indonesia and is the second largest producer in the world by market share.
